Art

P1070474Over the last year, I have picked up a paintbrush again! I used to do a lot of art in my youth and I have really missed it. I went back for lessons as I realised I didn’t have enough technique so thought it would be good to ground this skill with more knowledge. The evolving paintings I will share are just for pleasure. It seems I am on another quest to explore if I draw/paint like I compose and if they affect each other. Historically many famous composers were also artists! So far I have noticed a difference of movement when I play piano which I feel is being influenced by my growing confidence with the paintbrush….even musical sounds have more colour now because of my heightened awareness to colour mixing in painting. It will be interesting to see (and hear) how these two art forms merge and mix…..

A labour of love….watercolour!

There is so much to learn (and see) in the subtle shading of light. To work with a picture for months makes one realise how generous nature is in its finely tuned details.

It takes great patience to build layers and keep adjusting the relationships.

But then again….art is LIFE!!!
